READ CAPTION. Faint in the gym from Dysautonomia (VVS & POTS). Before anyone says anything about the camera, I film anyway & was filming for a dumbbell glute day & progress with my injury. Always get comments saying I conveniently film it- I share this for awareness & education purposes 🩵 also when I’m in presyncope, I am pretty much out of it anyway 😊 I was already not feeling 100% this day, so I decided to keep the weight light (for me). Unfortunately my body had other ideas, I very quickly into my third set, started to realise I couldn’t continue with the set- my breathing became very difficult & air hunger came in. The weight felt 100x heavier & vision became spotty. Knew I needed to get onto my back, so chucked the weight down, just about got onto my back in time before I lost consciousness. My fiancé knew I wasn’t feeling great, spotted the signs & came over to assist. Also had a lot of comments about my array being closed. It’s not closed, I just have a double chin 😅 but if my fiancé thinks it is, as you can see, he knows head tilt chin lift (I’m also a sports therapist & trauma trained, have told him what to do). Sharpie also came over to help- he is a good family friend of ours & our S&C coach. This was a cluster episode & I had another one after we ended the video. I will always go home after a faint, especially clusters because it’s dangerous for me to continue at that point. It is so crazy and scary how I can go from being able to lift heavy weights, to barely being able to lift my own body weight. I share this to raise awareness of the chronic illness & also what to do during an episode, also to show other spoonies that they aren’t alone. I have a medical tag on my watch with my illness & my fiance’s number for emergency. I faint 2-3 times a day on average. I’m so grateful to have such an incredible fiancé & supportive friends, who I trust & have built a community where I feel safe 🩵 I am gutted every time this happens, I panic that people judge & may think I just can’t lift the weight. To everyone who has applied to adopt our sweet girl, I just want to say thank you SO much. Choosing an adopter certainly won’t be easy to say the least. You’re all wonderful! There were many lovely people & applications, but after much deliberation and consideration, we’ve narrowed our search and have begun the next step - meet & greets! Bonzo’s first meeting went beautifully. I’ll only share details about the adopters when her forever home has been decided for privacy & respect reasons, but I’ll say this: this went SO well and Bonzo had a great time❤️ This adopter meets all of Bonzo’s requirements, wants, and needs, and is an absolutely lovely person.
