Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium heat. 2. Add onions and salt, then cook until soft and caramelized (about 10-15 minutes). 3. Stir in bacon pieces, brown sugar, BBQ sauce, and soy sauce. 4. Let it simmer on low for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thick and jam-like.
From Sunrise to Dinner time! ☀️🍽️ Spend a day with me 🫶🏽 Las Habichuelas 🫘 Ingredients: • 1 lbs Pinto beans • 1 slice green pepper • 1/4 onion • 1 garlic clove • 2 bay leaves • 4 cups water For the Sofrito Base: • 2 tbsp aceite de achiote (annatto oil) • 2 tbsp sofrito • 1 tsp garlic paste • 2 tbsp pitted olives • 1 tbsp tomato paste • 1/2 tsp adobo • 1/2 tsp oregano • 1/2 cup diced squash (calabaza) Las Alitas 🍗 Ingredients: • 2 lbs party wings • 2 tbsp aceite de achiote (annatto oil) • 1 tbsp adobo • 1 tbsp mojo rub • 1 tsp garlic salt • 1 tsp baking powder (for extra crunch) Instructions: 1. Season the Wings: In a large bowl, toss the wings with aceite de achiote, adobo, mojo rub, garlic salt, and baking powder. Make sure they’re evenly coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor). 2. Fry to Perfection: Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C). Fry wings in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden brown and crispy. 3. Drain & Serve: Remove from oil, drain on paper towels, and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
