Don't confuse driving with NO insurance and driving without PROOF of insurance. Both will get you a ticket, but driving with NO insurance hits hard. It can be lowered in court, but that's certainly not a given. Too many have found out the hard way. The classic 'public safety' vs 'revenue generation' conversation continues. There are no set allowances in terms of speeding, the limit is the limit. We all know that the law as stated is not always common practice. I don't know any police officer who has actually pulled someone over for 1 or 2 over the limit, however police will not publicly state allowances, nor should they.
