We followed this by using the K18 molecular repair to protect against damage and improve the hairs condition. Both of these focus on building up the hairs Keratin on a molecular level when performing chemical services. Formula: L’Oreal Professional Studio 8 15 vol Mixing ratio 1:1.5 Olaplex 1 Application: Air touch baby lights with air touch tip-outs *this application starts at the nape with the first section on the hairline on a diagonal. Each section is air touch on a 3mm slice which is then baby lighted. I allowed for a half inch between each foil, continuing this pattern to above the occipital bone. I changed the pattern to horizontal angling until you reach the crown. I moved to begin the front hairline at the right temple. I continued the same air touch and baby lighting technique for the front of Mykenna’s hair. I started by doing three foils on the hair line before continuing to space the foils out again. Continuing this until the section was complete, I then used this same strategy/pattern along the top section. Mykenna is a middle part girl so we parted her there before continuing this same pattern at the top right. I then return to the back of the head that I had already foiled with the same lightener to air touch the left out ends. I picked out the old blonde to just lighten and brighten it without losing the negative space. After this I returned to the left side to duplicate the application as the right side. Once completed the back of her head was ready to rinse out. Once we did that before returning to complete the topping out in the front of Mykenna’s head. These were rinsed at the same time as the foils on the right but the left were given additional time to catch up. We then detangled Mykenna’s hair with a Manta brush to avoid breakage or sensitizing the lightened hair. Olaplex 2 was applied for 20 mins before I applied a drop root. This application was a root tap starting in the back, moving toward the hairline. The hairline was left out and not toned at all. A cross check was done to drag the root and allow for more customization for the shadowing. Formula: L’Oreal Professional Dia Light 8N + 9vol Ratio 1:1.5 5 mins processing Mykenna’s ends were toned with Evo Fabuloso to subtly neutralize all the warmth in her hair. K18 molecular repair leave-in treatment was used in replacement of conditioner to protect the health of her hair. We then styled her hair using Davines Oi hair oil and heart of glass blow dry serum. *Note that the formulas were custom for Mykenna’s hair based on its starting point. Your stylist may be able to use this formula on you if you have the same starting point but allow for your own customization.
