The Daily recently become certified through clean label project certified which means it has been tested for over 150 harmful contaminants and passed. Meaning it’s a product you can trust has clean ingredients. we use it every day and have seen the benefits. 💙 use code HARVEY for 20% off 🐶 #dogisournativetongue #nativepet #dognutrition #doghealth #DogTraining
i have so much compassion for their sweet dogs, they’re clearly stressed/upset and I wish they would bring them inside for their own dogs sake. They’re such sweet innocent pups. They don’t know any better 😭💖 #dogtok #dogmom
these dogs definitely went from rags to riches 😂 #SundaysPartner We have been on the go a lot lately, from our trip to japan to being out of our house for 2 weeks due to a leaky pipe. and I have to say I am SO grateful for how convenient feeding Sundays has been. I don't have to worry about freezer storage as we transfer from place to place, but I know the food is just as fresh and im not compromising on the quality of the food. Plus, the dogs love it and they make for great "treats" on walks 😌. Use code HARVEY50 to get 50% off @Sundays for Dogs #dogtok #dogfood
and for more context: we weren’t at a “dog park” just a big neighborhood park that allows dogs to be off leash. so there’s not dogs everywhere, we only see a few the entire walk! It’s been a great place to train and use long lines for Zu! be careful with greetings!! unless both dogs are going to get something out of it / it’s going to be a pleasant and joyful interaction- it’s just not worth it!! #dogtok #DogTraining #offleash
I am here once again bragging about Harvey’s transformation from being called a “difficult dog” online to being called an “easy dog” and that is all thanks to a lil thing called positive reinforcement training 😌 Some notes : - a solid training plan ALWAYS starts out with assessing for signs of pain in your dog. Harvey at the beginning of our journey was diagnosed with arthritis, and getting him on a good pain management plan was crucial in helping his reactivity training. - the training industry is unregulated as hell. the “trainer” I initially hired was not actually a trainer at all, and had no formal education. just some dude who owned a malinois and knew how to use leash corrects & ecollars. - the entire time we were using treats, even alongside corrections. we still saw greater progress when removing corrections. - because of this journey I am now a certified dog trainer who’s main goal is to remind people how amazing their dog is. and to help people understand that training kindly is possible, and the results you see are so amazing #DogTraining #dogtrainer
after many many many vet appointments for Harvey and Azula, I’ve gotten to the point where I’m very comfortable telling the vets what I will and won’t allow with my dogs. We were at the orthopedic specialist for Azula yesterday, and the first thing they said was that they were going to take her to the back for a physical exam. I told them taking her to the back without me isn’t an option, but I’m happy to do whatever else I can to make their lives easier and get Azula looked at. but for me and my dogs, me not being in the room is not an option. And it’s not because I don’t trust my vets, it’s because my dogs are always going to be more comfortable being held/restrained by me than a complete stranger. It is okay to advocate for your nervous dog at the vet. You are not being difficult, and a lot of times when we feel confident to speak up we can make it easier on the vets and vet techs by helping & showing them the best way to accomplish exams with our dog. #DogTraining #dogtok #vettok
how to teach your dog to “leave it” - tips from a certified dog trainer 💖 “Leave it” can be an important skill to have to avoid your dog eating things that could make them sick. it can also be incredibly useful when you have a dog who likes to chase squirrels or other prey. I like to remind people that leave it is actually very similar to recall or calling your dogs name. your basically just asking the dog to come to you when you ask them to, essentially a recall! When teaching a new behavior focus on what you want your dog TO do and not what you want your dog to stop doing. this way of teaching leave it sets our dog up for success every step of the way so that their learning history with the word “leave it” is heavily associated with stopping what they’re doing and orienting towards you. the more successful reps we get of this, the more reliable the behavior will be. The traditional way of teaching leave it is fine, but can often cause frustration in nervous dogs, OR dogs who are SUPER food obsessed and will continue to try and get the food in the closed hand and almost never decide to back away. Let me know which behavior/skill you want a “how to” video on next 👀 #dogtok #DogTraining #dogtrainer #dogtrainingtips @Karen Pryor Clicker Training
PSA Do not get a dog to cure your dogs separation anxiety it likely will not solve the issue. Bu harv loves his emotional support sister 😭 #dogtok #rescuedog
things Zu is really good at: recall, ignoring squirrels, place, and cooperative care. things she isn’t the best at: sit 😂 and honeslty have never once needed her to sit 🤷🏼♀️ #dogtok #DogTraining
