Last summer while visiting Jackson Hole, WY, I saw the spread creek camping site turn off and felt the need to go pay my respects to Gabby Petito. I didn’t get to buy any nicer flowers, I didn’t have time to paint a rock or do anything other than write her a little note on a piece of receipt paper I found in my car and pick some wildflowers. It felt eerie being there, imagining what happened on the very ground I stood on, just a couple years prior. I watched her case unfold in real time, and it’s stuck with me ever since. I didn’t venture off into the trees to look for her memorial, we were on the road headed back home (long drive ahead of us) when we stopped and without knowing exactly where and what to look for, I decided to keep my visit short and stay at the campsite/turnoff. I originally wasn’t going to post this, only bc I was afraid the internet would freak out over me “littering” the little piece of paper. But after seeing the recent Netflix Documentary, I wanted to share this and remind her family that she’s still very much thought of and cared for by people all over🤍 Rest in eternal peace, Gabby Petito🙏🏻 #gabbypetito
