Abdominal ultrasound for Cappy tomorrow 🩵Symptomatically, Cappy is fine right now, but it's no secret Cappy has been experiencing reoccurring urinary infections more so now than ever. In addition to a recent cystitis flare up and the urine scalding drama. Things have just been.. more delicate lately. Mentally I've been a bit more fragile too. So we are doing a little digging and investigating to see if anything's changed. I'm not anticipating anything remarkable. 💩"One pumpkin a day keeps the silly doo doo away" -Cappy✨ Cappy is on week three of his fecal matter transplant. l've been documenting and journaling Cappy's poo diary each day. While his doo doo is by no means "perfect" there's been a shift in having more good doo doo days than not. That's HUGE. His transplant will be a total of 60 days so we technically are only a quarter of the way done too. Ever since Cappy began experiencing silly doo doo drama back in 2022, I started incorporating pumpkin supplement in Cappy's daily meal routine. Once I discovered the @Cat Person pumpkin patch up pouches, I never looked back. I've literally opened a pouch each day for over two years. Cappy's rescuer in Dubai recently shared his baby kitten photos.. my heart can't take it 🥹🌎For a bit more on his backstory in Dubai- Cappy was initially found paralyzed on the street in Dubai, and a good samaritan brought him to the local animal clinic to see if they could help. From there, Cappy was given the medical care and attention needed to recover. He had the sweetest and most nurturing foster mom for many many months. She helped with daily stretches even. Once he was medically cleared, he flew all the way to New Jersey to his temporary foster home until he was adopted. He was in foster care for about 6 months with zero applications. At the time, I had a small Instagram account for my first rescue cat, Leopold, and one of my followers shared a post of Cappy looking to be adopted. I ended up completing the application, and about a month later, the foster family drove down to Nashville so I could officially adopt him!

Preparing for Cappy's ultrasound ✨ Preparation for my nervous cat's vet appointment is very important. It's all about the little details, everything adds up. We do a pre vet visit protocol the evening before with gabapentin. I make sure to pack his bag with all of his essentials, like a comfy blanket that smells like home, a few of his favorite toys that have catnip in them, a fuzzy sweater for extra cushioning, a few churu, and his confidence cone! Cappy does much better with his cone because it shields his face from unfamiliar hands. Cappy gets very nervous with new people, especially at the vet. But all these small, intentional steps add up to a successful vet visit for our Cappy! I'm happy to share Cappy's ultrasound went well. He also received his monthly treatment for his osteoarthritis ✨🙏🏻 We are all home and resting. We won't have the full interpretation for a few days. Again, I'm not anticipating anything extraordinary to show up. Really this was all about establishing Cappy's new baseline. Can't believe our bear is in his middle aged cat years! Quick cappy update- Cappy recently started his fecal matter transplant (FMT) a few days ago. His gut microbiome results came in, and he basically has a rather large imbalance of the good gut bacteria's you need in your belly to break food down and absorb the nutrients. He's in a pretty big deficit with many of the bacteria's. The goal of the FMT process is to restore and replenish his gut microbiome

This brought me to tears Our sweetest, sincerest Hadley.. oh what a difference two years can make. Rebuilding you up to your best version, the most unapologetically YOU version. We love every ounce of you, the silly, the scary, the nervous, the bold, the stubborn, the loving YOU. You are safe always, and we love seeing your confidence and comfort shine through. ✨It just seemed so profound capturing the same activity, in the same exact location, two years apart. Hadley and I were making his 1 month adoptiversary cake in the first video. And then the recent video was just fun snackies because.
