Welcome to Remus, Romulus and Khaleesi. Three beautiful modern day Direwolves created with @colossal The three beautiful white wolves were created by genetically editing gray wolf dna to change the most important features to match those found in ancient Direwolf DNA. It is now thought that all Direwolves were white as the dna came from two separate regions, thousands of years apart and show a white colour in the DNA. Another amazing result is that the puppies are growing a long mane which wasn’t anticipated. They are huge at 5 months, already the size of a mid sized gray wolf adult. Their head and jaw is larger and thicker as are their legs. They are babies still so we won’t be able to see how beautiful they are until they grow up. All wolf puppies are a bit gorky with long ears at an early age. This paves the way for conservation efforts to help save some of the world’s most threatened species. OMG it happened! The Direwolf is back. Two beautiful and healthy white Direwolves called Reamus and Romulus were born in October 2024 after being De-Extincted by @colossal who are the most exciting company on the forefront of conservation and the restoration of animals that us humans have destroyed. The two boys are currently living at a secret location in a huge and wild 20 acre enclosure in North America under the supervision of vets and staff. They are growing at a huge rate and have wonderful howls just like the grey wolf. We will learn so much about this species as well as now have groundbreaking science to restore critically endangered wildlife populations such as the Red Wolf and The Northern White Rhino as well as be able to edit out hereditary diseases that are killing huge swathes of animal populations. With the Norwegian Wolf Pack in the Arctic Circle. Norways Wolves are seriously endangered and both Norway and Sweden heavily manage the wolves that share a border with both countries. My dream would be that these wolves were allowed to expand up into the wild north of these countries. Meet Remus & Romulus: The new Direwolves created by @colossal Relying on deft genetic engineering and ancient, preserved DNA, Colossal scientists deciphered the dire wolf genome, rewrote the genetic code of the common gray wolf to match it, and, using domestic dogs as surrogate mothers, brought Romulus, Remus, and their sister, 2-month-old Khaleesi, into the world during three separate births last fall and this winter—effectively for the first time de-extincting a line of beasts whose live gene pool long ago vanished.
