🌿PRIVACY HEDGES: 1 Year Growth Progress! 🌿 If you’re looking for a fast-growing privacy hedge that stays green year-round, I’d definitely recommend Indian Laurel (Ficus Nitida)! We’ve seen so much growth over the last year and I can only imagine how lush the backyard is going to be by next summer! For reference, we planted mostly 15g trees but also planted a few mature trees that are in the 24” containers. All are planted 36” apart. *If you’re considering this type of tree for a privacy hedge, though, I would definitely approach it with a bit of caution & consult with your local nursery to see if it’s going to be a good fit for your yard. ✨The Adobe Project Renovation: Interior & Exterior Design Concepts!✨ I’m excited to be staying true to this Adobe/Spanish style home with our new design! Here’s the plan: EXTERIOR DESIGN: ✅ White stucco siding ✅ Terracotta tile roof ✅ Paved walkway ✅ Dryscaping ✅ Wrought iron gate & fixtures ✅ Courtyard ✅ Rustic wood door INTERIOR DESIGN: ✅ Saltillo tile flooring ✅ White cabinetry ✅ Wrought iron hardware & fixtures ✅ Aged brass faucets ✅ Woven light fixture ✅ Dark wood doors, shelves, & accents ✅ Decorative & Zellige tiles ✅ Arched walkways & range hood For our layout, we are going with Option B from the part 1 video, with a few minor adjustments. LAYOUT PRIORITIES/CHANGES: ✅ Add second bathroom with full tub ✅ Enlarge first bedroom & bathroom to make a primary suite ✅ Close off bathroom access through kitchen ✅ Adding formal dining nook in kitchen ❌ Losing hall linen closet ❌ Losing “back door access” (this home sits on the corner so the “backyard” is actually on the side of the house. The existing back door leads to the detached garage and 2 apartment units.)
