New Year's Day marathon as a beginner... welll I ran 5km and after weeks and weeks off with another injury (not a training or overuse injury but from a bad pair of shoes 🫠) still not sure what the problem is and it's not better BUT I can run pain free.... Point is no I didn't run a marathon but a 5km can feel like a marathon after a big set back or as a beginner runner and that is OKAY! Date night healthy dinner - episode 2 ✨ Tonight’s meal: Mediterranean salmon and crispy potato bowls 🫒🥒 Recipe is below <3 Keeping this series going weekly with easy delish healthy meals you girlies can make with your boyfriends or even with your bestie because cooking together can be so so fun and it can also be healthy and not boring plain food so follow along for that! ✨Ingredients✨- for two 2 salmon fillets Potatoes Olive oil Broccoli Peppers Side salad: Mango Peppers Coriander Black olives Lime squeezed The marinade: Honey Olive oil Whole grain mustard Lime Ginger Garlic - roast the potatoes in some oil in the oven (we part boiled ours first for 15 minutes then they took 20 mins in the oven on a high heat!) also add some peppers to roast here - make the marinade and cover the salmon in it, again cook in the over for about 18-22 mins skin up - boil the broccoli - chop the mango, olives, peppers, lime juice, coriander for the side salad - assemble in a bowl & enjoyyy Save & tag your partner or bestie to make this with xxx #datenightideas #healthydinnerideas #mealprepideas #healthyrecipes #guthealth #gymcouple

I’ve stopped tracking calories and eating ‘more’ and guess what…. I didn’t gain a load of weight, nothing bad happened and I’m so glad I done it as for my mindset towards food and my body omg it was so needed - that’s kinda a big thing to admit but it’s true and this not tracking calories, fuelling better, finding a balance of really enjoying food again and seeing it as so much more than numbers and what it does to my body has been huge…. I’ve tracked for a long time, I know what’s in everything, I’m not saying that’s healthy or ideal but it did teach me a lot about my body and food….but I was definitely still under eating and using that as an excuse to eat lower calorie foods, not enjoy cooking things, trying new meals, eating out more, eating chocolate every day etc things like that and that’s not okay because I was just scared that my body would change… I’m not tracking, (because I’m aware of what’s in food and have been eating better and fuelling better I am aware of this) I’ve increased what I’m eating and realistically nothing but good things have happened! I feel like this was a hold up, I knew I could eat more and I knew I could eat better, so that’s what I’ve been doing and our metabolisms are smart and will adapt - food is fuel like it’s not to be feared!! But honestly life is better with a healthy relationship to food, being able to cook new meals and have fun doing it, being excited to go out for food, choosing a hot chocolate on a walk not a black coffee, enjoying some cocktails like life’s about balance but I’ve also realised if I fuel better I perform better in the gym and I wanna be fitter and faster and feel my best! what happened when I started taking creatine…… welll i didn’t get bulky 💁‍♀️ andd the only other thing I’ve changed is actually eating a bit more and better so point proved but… being honest with you girlies I was hesitant to start taking it as yes I knew the facts, knew all the fab benefits and how it works etc BUT the myths about it did bother me, I didn’t wanna be bloated, bulk up, or gain size as I felt good and liked my body which is totally okay and I know a lot of you will relate to that! yes factually you can ‘gain weight’ when you start taking it but that’s because it draws a little water into your muscles (literally 1-2% of your body weight you could ‘gain’ on the scale) but that’s inside the muscle so it makes them fuller and more defined but the main benefit is how it makes you train so much better, recover better and feel more energised… and if you eat better and train better you’ll actually feel better and get results! personally I’ve found I look a lot more toned, and a bit leaner even if I have a bit more shape to me but im also so much stronger in the gym, recover from my sessions and have energy to push myself! 4 things I learnt gaining 12kg…. Yep my body completely changed, it was my worst fear and the hardest thing I’ve had to go through and the best thing I could have ever committed too was healing, gaining and recovering and here’s somethings I’ve learnt that I think you need to hear if your going through it too…. 🌸 Being skinnier did not make me confident and it did not make me prettier which are things I used to believe would happen but the opposite did, I was so insecure and hated how I felt and looked but that changed so so much 🌸 People like you for you, for being yourself, and you glow when your healthy, happy and confident that’s why people like you not for being skinny 🌸 You’re so much more capable in a healthy body, you can experience SO much more, push yourself, grow, and do so much more than you can’t do in a body that’s underweight and undernourished 🌸Food is not the enemy and you can actually enjoy it and be able to eat what you want and find a balance, no one meal makes you gain weight especially not overnight like you feel when your struggling with it 🌸Life is so much better when it doesn’t revolve around food, calories, the number on the scale and that is a fact and a promise #weightgain #FitTok #GlowUp #gainingweight
