How to break 90 ⬇️ 1. You have to keep the ball in play off the tee, reteeing hitting 3 from the box or taking penalty strokes from hazards is the fastest way for your score to add up. Your goal here is not to hit more fairways, it doesn’t hurt if that happens, but your goal is to keep it in play. Aim to the widest part of the hole and hit whatever club necessary. 2. Do not go flag hunting. Aim away from pins/hazards to reduce penalty strokes and leaving yourself short sided. Your goal is to have longer putts and easy chips to eliminate doubles. 3. You have to have a competent short game. Have two shots, a low and high go to. Use the low shot whenever you can but the high shot is great when you have to get up and over a bunker or to an elevated green. 4. If you’re firing to the fat part of greens you’re going to have longer putts. Get the speed dialed in to give yourself a chance at two putting. Other sports (basketball, football, etc) were responding to a target. Golf you’re looking down. By giving yourself some strokes looking at the target it can help the brain sync up the feel. This drill has helped more players than any other drill I’ve posted. I constantly see players struggle with rotating, but also the pressure shifts that go along with it. This drill will keep you from swaying but also keep you from collapsing forward. Once you get the rotation dialed in that is typically game changer for a ton of players. . 🛑 Stop the driver hooks 🛑 If your path tends to get too in to out and you hit snap hooks and occasional high blocks this is a great way to fix the two way miss without extreme swing feels. Tee the driver down extra low, this is a great way to force yourself to swing slightly more down and left rather than up and right (as a right handed player) to neutralize things. . If you want to become an elite player you have to be able to control the distance, trajectory, and spin of your wedge shots. Swinging full at high lofted clubs makes this extremely difficult. If you can develop the “knock down” wedge shot to lower the flight and control the spin your distance control will improve dramatically. Once your technique is dialed in you need distances you can trust. If you’re looking very a clear and quick rangefinder that locks onto the pin instantly check out Nikon COOLSHOT PROIII STABILIZED from @nikongolfusa #NikonGolf
One way to improve your scores drastically is by choosing smarter targets, even if you don’t hit perfect shots you will leave yourself in better positions and get in less trouble. I like to know three distances on every approach shot that I hit: pin, back of the green, and front of the green/cover for bunkers or hazards short of the green. You typically don’t want to miss long to back pins or short to front pins. By knowing these distances you can confidently take long or short out of play most of the time depending on the situation. You can see how I approach a back pin in the video. If the pin was front, I would select a shot that goes past the pin, without risking going long. This greatly reduces risk of coming up short, but also takes away risk of going long. Good golf is boring, going pin hunting will usually get you in trouble. The Nikon COOLSHOT PROIII STABILIZED rangefinder from @nikongolfusa has 6x zoom, locks onto the pin instantly, and is crystal clear. All of these features, along with slope measurement, will help you get these 3 distances accurately and quickly. #NikonGolf
