Check out this place ASAP before the fees come (still free with the America the Beautiful Pass) or the water level rises which can wash out the spring. It can definitely get a little crowded but I got there at 9am on July 3rd and had over an hour to myself here! This is perfect place for large groups, a friend, or just some serene alone time. You have to check this place out!
I had to take a couple weeks off to center myself but Im really happy to be back here. So many people only focus on the negative stuff that happens in Aurora but Aurora is more than the people, the government, the cops, and the crime. Aurora is where the plains meets the mountains, where the burrowing owls fly and the pronghorn play. Where eagles nest and beavers thrive. This is the Aurora I've come to love, thanks for checking it out with me. I hope you go to check it out for yourself.
I hadddd to make this video because there is no way I thought I would find a last minute spot on a Sunday during the summer. Not only was there one spot there was a dozen, and I got the one with the perfect view and a family of beavers! I think alot of people are afraid to drive these roads (always do research beforehand I probably shouldn't have just taken a random dirt rocky road😅) but most vehicles can get to alot of these spots without 4x4 or high clearance! Theres so many spots like this in Colorado so grab a friend and start checking them out!
This is easily one of the best spots near Denver. There's tons of wildlife here, flat trails, and wide open prairie views. It's the perfect place to reset, right inside the city.
Senator Mike Lee of Utah wants to sell OUR public lands—and unless your senators vote, no, they’re all realtors now, too. Lee’s amendment to the “Big Beautiful Bill” would sell off 3 million acres of Forest Service and BLM land. These aren’t just random spots. These are some of the most beautiful places in the world! Places like Ice Lakes or Greys and Torreys, Pikes Peak or Mount Blue Sky Once sold, we don’t get them back. Call your realtor (ehh..senators) TODAY and tell them to oppose public land sales in this bill—and every future one. Check out the link in my bio, tag your senators, and rally your friends to get involved. We’ve stopped land grabs before. We CAN do it again! Thanks, @OutdoorAlliance , for the map!
If you forgot your reservation into Rocky Mountain National Park, dont worry, @YMCA of the Rockies has got you covered. You can park on their property and hike into Moraine Park or Sprague Lake. You still need a parks pass, but you dont need a timed entry reservation! You still have to follow park rules so leave the dogs at home, plus I saw a moose right on the trail but if youre looking to beat the traffic into the park, this might be the way to do it!
Colorado is a cheat code, and this 3-day itinerary proves it! I just camped for FREE on Stillwater Pass (Grand Lake side) right outside of RMNP and it was one of the best trips of my life! Almost all of the activities I did are free with the America the Beautiful Pass and you're still just a few miles from gas, grocery stores, restaurants, museums, and more! *Dispersed camping means no fee, no facilities—pack it in, pack it out, please always LEAVE NO TRACE! Campsites are first-come, first-served. *No reservation needed for RMNP if you enter before 9AM or after 2PM (Bear Lake Corridor not included) *You can buy firewood in town or in RMNP campgrounds but also on USDA managed forests like Arapaho‑Roosevelt (which includes Stillwater Pass area), casual gathering of small amounts of dead-and-down wood for campfires does not require a permit. Only larger or commercial removals beyond incidental personal use need one. Save this for your next trip—and comment if you want a full RMNP guide!
